03. Christ-Centered Math Workbook: Level A (HS)

Off to a great start with Christ-Centered Math!

Recommended For:

  • Older 3's (AK3)
  • Young 4's (K4)

Notice to Math Edition 1 Users: If you own Edition 1's Math Lessons Guide A and Math Lessons Guide B, our Home School workbooks (Levels A, B:1, B:2, and C) are not compatible. To purchase the original Math Workbook: Level A, order Part 401. For Level B, order Part 403.

Description of Workbook A:

After teaching the daily lesson in Math Lessons: Level A (Part 502), refer to Part II's Workbook Answer Key for additional teaching tips. Each day's workbook assignment begins with Scripture plus a spiritual and math application.

Because Math Level A lays a foundation for understanding Level B:1, a Level A workbook is included in both Math Kit A (004HS) and Math Kit B (005HS). .

During FOUNDATION DAYS 1-10, the first ten pages are illustrations of Math Flashcards 1-10. To represent “how many” each numeral represents, students will draw a corresponding number of simple shapes.

In addition to introducing the 1-10 Animal Addition Families, the workbook's Scriptures teach students about Creation week, the Fall, Cain and Abel, and what times were like in the days of Noah. Simultaneously, they will be developing the following basic skills:

  • Number Concepts 1–10---the ability to understand “how many” a numeral represents.
  • Number Recognition 1–10---the ability to identify numbers accurately.
  • Number Recall---the ability to write any number from memory.

BEST RESULTS . . . Order the full Math Kit A (004HS) for an AK3 or K4 student. After Level A, order the Math Add-On Kit B (Part 005AO).

Advanced 4, K5, or Beginning 1st students should begin with Math Kit B (005HS) which includes both Levels A and B.

In addition to Math Workbook A, you need:

  • Christ-Centered Math Master Guide (Part 500)
  • Christ-Centered Animal Stories with Scripture Songs and Hymns CD (Part 501)
  • Christ-Centered Math Lessons: Level A (Part 502)

Note: Some Alphabet & Numbers Tracing Sheets are included in Math Kit A at no charge for a limited time only. Although these tracing sheets may be reproduced, for repeated use we suggest laminating each page (or inserting in a plastic report cover). For writing practice, we recommend using a dry erase marker or washable overhead transparency pen since either one wipes off well.

  • Teach an Advanced 3 or Young 4 according to a pace that best fits God-given capabilities.
  • An Advanced K4, K5, or Beginning 1st grader can usually complete Math Levels A and B:1 in a typical school year---and some K5/B1st students can also finish Level B:2.
  • Even more advanced students have been known to finish Levels A, B, and C in a year, or shortly thereafter. For the best results, teach in sequence according to whatever pacing lovingly challenges student needs.

Reminder: Please don't skip over Level A due to workbook assignments being so easy at this stage. Math Level A provides an important foundation for Level B:1.
